This letter to the editor was sent in response to: Black Candidates Call for Intervention in Clackamas County Ballot Count
Thank you for your reporting on this story. I learned so much from your work on this. I hope you keep reporting on this.
I support Candidate Smith's call for emergency intervention. Hall has gotten away with breaking our trust for years. It is sickening to think voters still elect her. Nevertheless she needs to be placed on administrative leave. Why? Because she has been through mail in ballot production for decades; I for one would not call her action as lack of oversight, but a conscious decision to "trust" the printing. The fact that she and her team did not catch the misprint is inexcusable.
And the fact that she stood up the Secretary of State for a WEEK is evidence of Hall's contempt for our system. I hope you will keep covering this story.
Your story inspired me to send the same message to Governor Brown as candidate Smith had. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
